I will be heading out on a personal retreat this week and try to move away from all the electronic tethers that I use to choke me… and then I blame Mark Zuckerberg… But I digress.
My texts for the retreat will be the Book of Daniel and 1-2 Corinthians (the Holy Spirit’s reading list, not mine, so this should be interesting). As I was skimming (to get ahead) I came across significant verses from Paul in 1 Corinthians 8 and find them to be needed rules for Kingdom life in a world where we have a hard time balancing truth and love.
1 Corinthians 8:1 — Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.
1 Corinthians 8:9 — But take care that this liberty of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block to the weak.
Kingdom Rule of Life: Don’t be a stumbling block for the weak and then blame the weak for stumbling.
