As I walk through Ephesians I am struck again by the power the Church has in Christ. Yet, we stumble around without much of an idea as to who we really are in the kingdom of God.
These verses still capture me and I roll them through my mind regularly:
“His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, according to his eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Eph. 3:10-11)
I often don’t even know what to do with these magnificent words. We certainly don’t ACT like the “manifold wisdom of God” at times!
I am struck with the thought: We are too often good “at church” but we don’t have much a clue as to what it means to BE the Church.
very true… I remember learning once that word “manifold” meant something like multi-faceted, lots of layers waiting to be discovered, but when we don’t know His word or who we are in Him, you are correct… not much can happen.
Yes.
