Reading for Today:
Psalm 97, 99, 100, 94, 95
1 Cor. 11:17-34
This particular time period may be one of the most upside down time periods I’ve experienced in my lifetime in American Christianity.
Let those who love the Lord hate evil,
for he guards the lives of his faithful ones
and delivers them from the hand of the wicked. (Ps. 97:10)
We have entered an era where we truly call “evil” “good” and then “good” “evil.” So much of what I had known growing up has come under the controlling spirit of this age so that power and access mean far more than the truth of the Kingdom of God.
This period of Lent needs to be a time of deep, heart-felt, soul-moving examination… and we can’t even call out with a prophetic voice on what is wrong and what is right any longer.
Forgive us, O God.
