Ash Wednesday Readings:
Psalm 95, 32, 143, 102, 130
Amos 5:6-15
Heb. 12:1-14
Luke 18:9-14
Every year we get the opportunity to deeply reflect on the most basic, most powerful aspect of our faith: the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It has only been in the last few years I have entered into full worship on Ash Wednesday. It is a highly significant day of worship for me now.
It is the opportunity to enter a purposeful time to reset my thinking. It is a time to reflect on the abundant mercy of God.
This year is free of ministry obligations, so the Lord is speaking to me in very personal ways on this journey as we transition to something new in our lives.
Please take this journey. Don’t hurry through it. Find resources for Scripture reading and dwell in those texts. Allow the mercy of God to wash over you again.
Peace on this journey.
