Lent — Being Reminded of Who We Are

In our second day of reading (HERE), the text from Deuteronomy causes to reflect on who we are as the people of God.

We are holy to the Lord. We are fully his. Our lives are to be given as total, living sacrifices for the glory of the Lord. The word “sacrifice” may cause us to shrink back. We may think of all we have to “give up.”

Friends, nothing compares. What we have is utterly nothing compared to what God will give. We have an abundant, loving God ready to pour out the goodness of his Kingdom into our lives.

In this season, reflect on being given over wholly to God. He has called you out. He has called you his “treasured possession.”

Lord, in this season I need to examine what I treasure. May my life be emptied of all that doesn’t belong and may it be filled up with the treasure of YOU.
