We celebrated the life of a saint today. A dear lady who went to be with Jesus at the age of 97. She was healthy to the end. The great witness she left behind was amazing. A woman of prayer, she prayed with joy throughout her life.
There is a legacy of joyful prayer to carry on with her passing. She carried a mantle of prayer, but it wasn’t sorrowful prayer. It was a life full of joy because she got to pray. When there was a prayer meeting, she was there. When she reached a time she couldn’t drive, she made sure someone picked her up. When the prayer meeting dwindled at her church to very few, she was one of the few.
It is not enough to celebrate this life. It is far more vital to imitate this life. Oh, to live a life of joyful prayer!
