Transformation of the heart, soul, and mind isn’t done in a vacuum. This isn’t a “me and Jesus” effort. This is a BODY OF CHRIST effort.
We need to surrender our ideals about “rugged individualism” and see the benefit of the Body of Christ. Walking in true transformation means I need to be willing to be “Exhibit A.” I’m willing for my life to be under examination by others. In my struggles and triumphs, in my walk with God as I work to “be anxious for nothing” and “rejoice always,” I must be willing to allow others to watch. I can’t be afraid of failure… or success.
The ideal of powerful transformation must be firm in me. It must then be practiced by me. And then I can continue to challenge others to “walk this way.”
We need a bolder call to apprenticeship. Not our weak forms of “discipleship.” Apprenticeship.
We need to do this together.
9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. (Phil. 4:9)
Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ. (1 Cor. 11:1)
Therefore I urge you to imitate me. (1 Cor. 4:16)
Join together in following my example, brothers and sisters, and just as you have us as a model, keep your eyes on those who live as we do. (Phil. 3:17)
Be willing to BE the example.
Be willing to do this transformational walk TOGETHER.
