I am getting into Timothy Keller’s book Center Church: Doing Balanced, Gospel-Centered Ministry in Your City.
I have been refreshed by the subject matter of prayer, and more specifically revival prayer. He discusses “frontline prayer,” which consists of these elements:
1. A request for grace to confess sins and to humble ourselves.
2. A compassion and zeal for the flourishing of the church and the reaching of the lost.
3. A yearning to know God, to see his face, to glimpse his glory.
In the past 24 hours, before I read those words, I have had this amazing stirring in my heart. It falls almost exactly along these lines. I am so hungry to see a harvest of the lost coming to Christ. I am so hungry for the powerful presence of God.
I am so stirred that these thoughts bubbled up in me right before I read these words!
I need this stirring!
