A Heart That is Fully Toward God

The eyes of the LORD search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. (2 Chron. 16:9, NLT)

Asa started strong as a king of Judah. He got rid of the idols, the high places, and cleaned out the Temple. He took on enemies coming against Judah and won as he cried out to God. When he was reminded of the covenant, and the call to be faithful to God, he kept walking with God. Yet, he finished lousy. Israel came against Judah and instead of seeking God, he sought Syria’s help. He used valuables from the Temple to bribe Syria.

This time when a prophet confronted Asa about his choices, Asa got mad. He finished his life in misery, bitterness, and disease.

It’s not about how you start. It’s how you finish.

Keep your heart FULLY toward God.
