What SHOULD mark us as believers is the ability to extend common courtesy toward people. Unfortunately, this is an easy verse to read over quickly and move on, because, quite frankly, being nasty is just too much fun! (Or so it seems, since we seem to be pretty darn good at it, especially in the blogosphere and in social media.)

It should remind us of what we were:

“We were disgusting, and we hated other people.” (Titus 3:3b, CEB)

Unfortunately, that too often describes our current state of mind.
