Brokenness That Leads to Healing

We need to be reminded from time to time of where we were before Christ.

We may also, from time to time, need to be reminded that we’ve allowed our walk with Christ to grow a bit stale.

Our lives can get moving in a positive direction and things can be moving along quite well, but in the midst of it we may forget the provision of God.

When I was comfortable, I said,
“I will never stumble.” (Psalm 30:6, CEB)

When those times come and we fell pretty confident, God may do a huge favor for us: remove his presence.

Because it pleased you, Lord,
you made me a strong mountain.
But then you hid your presence.
I was terrified. (Ps. 30:7, CEB)

It’s a favor because we need to continually recognize his great grace in our lives. If we are sensitive to those moments, we will immediately call out and know his great pleasure again.

Lent is a good time to stop and reflect. It is not about constant mourning. It is about spiritual evaluation.

Be thankful for the presence of the Lord today!
