Our youngest son turns 18 today. I remember this day three years ago. That was the day my life shifted into another phase, and I remember it so clearly.
Our oldest son had just asked his girlfriend to marry him that day. We went out to one of our favorite restaurants to celebrate both the birthday and the engagement. Sitting in the restaurant that night I realized life had just shifted.
As we look forward to our youngest’s high school graduation this next spring and years ahead with three college students in our family, it is pure joy. We love seeing what God is doing in their lives.
Life does indeed shift, and those seasons can be times of gratitude. I don’t have to live anything over again. There is joy in the journey.
