In light of the violence of this world, I offered some thoughts yesterday regarding the fact we don’t need to live this way. There is a way that is different.

But the question to us, as believers, is this: CAN we?

Do we WANT to?

I see as many believers posting things about “shooting back” as I do believers who are just grieving.

Maybe we don’t want to be different. Maybe we want to react in the same way as the rest of the world.

There is a way that is different. Jesus points it out clearly in the Sermon on the Mount. The possibilities are there.

What if I could put a sign on my church that said, “STRESS-FREE LIVING TAUGHT HERE. GUARANTEED RESULTS.”

You would laugh.

That’s the problem. We don’t think it’s possible!

But it IS possible.

The choice is ours. Will we follow Jesus… or just SAY we follow Jesus?
