Here is a very thorough review of the NIV2011.
I have settled into the NIV2011 quite comfortably, along with enjoying the Common English Bible for the most part. It’s too bad this “controversy” over the NIV and ESV may never go away.

That was an amazing thesis…er, review! I just spent much of the past three hours reading it, and I agree with the conclusions. I find the new NIV to be a fine translation; I’m not only comfortable with it, I’m also quite confident in it. If there’s anything negative about it, I think it’s that it tends to get a little too normal, too easy, too…bland? But if I really want to dig into the scripture with understanding, the new NIV has to be one of the translations, if not the MAIN one, on the menu.
