The reading for the first Monday of Advent includes 2 Peter 1:1-11, one of my favorite passages of Scripture. The magnitude of these verses overwhelms me every time I read them.

³ By his divine power the Lord has given us everything we need for life and godliness through the knowledge of the one who called us by his own honor and glory. ⁴ Through his honor and glory he has given us his precious and wonderful promises, that you may share the divine nature and escape from the world’s immorality that sinful craving produces. (2 Pet. 1:3-4, CEB)

All we need is given through Christ. The power of the first Advent should not be lost on us! The coming of Christ ushers in the power of the Kingdom of God. Through his coming we are now able to step into an incredible partnership. All is truly ours in Christ.

Today, reflect on the true power of the Kingdom given to you. Take on the task of living in the true power of the Kingdom (2Pet. 1:5-11). In him we lack nothing.
