As I move through part of my Church History II class (teaching it, anyway), I am once again visiting John Wesley and his view of entire sanctification.
There is a hunger he stirs up in me as I read his words. One site I came across has a wealth of Wesley’s material and I am reading my way through portions of it.
Wesley’s hunger is becoming my hunger. There is a hunger for “perfect love.” There is something God truly wants to gift us as believers, and I am drawn to Wesley’s words.
O grant that nothing in my soul May dwell, but thy pure love alone! O may thy love possess me whole, My joy, my treasure, and my crown ! Strange fires far from my heart remove; My every act, word, thought, be love!
