I was teaching on Bible translation this weekend and mentioned my encounter with the Common English Bible and the translation of the Holy Spirit in Rom. 8:26 as “it.” The CEB said they would change it back to “he” or “himself” in the third print edition and then make the change soon on the digital versions.

I looked up Romans 8:26 on my Olive Tree Reader CEB this morning just to see, and sure enough, they have already made the change.

This age of internet response and feedback and then digital editions changing to reflect that conversation is so amazing. What a fun process!
