I am almost through the second volume of Church Dogmatics. Every once in awhile I find something I actually understand!

“The proclamation of the Church is pure doctrine when the human word spoken in it in confirmation of the bliblical witness to revelation offers and creates obedience to the Word of God.”

Okay, I will admit that when I just typed that out it made less sense than when I first read it. Now I’m down to about 75% on that sentence…

The crucial point for Barth is the proclamation of the Word of God. This is when the Church is really in action.
