The call of 1 Peter, and the call of Scripture to the believer is this: “Be holy for God is holy.”

Holiness is not a dress code. It’s life-change. It is coming more fully into the image and example of Christ.

The biggest challenge we will ever have in this lifetime is US. The biggest challenge for Dan Thompson is Dan Thompson.

This quote from Richard Foster is so appropriate: “We have real difficulty here because everyone thinks of changing the world, but where, oh where, are those who think of changing themselves?”

God calls us to an inward life of goodness. There is a formation of the soul that needs to happen on a consistent basis. It is the lifelong journey.

Change the world? If we would have Christ transform us we will indeed find a changed world.

I remember a story from some revival movement where the young man drew a chalk circle on the floor that would only hold one person. Then, he stepped into that circle and prayed, “Lord, start a revival with everyone in this circle!”

“It’s not my brother, not my sister, but it’s ME, O Lord, standing in the need of prayer.”
