Being a Key Piece to the Puzzle

I had a conversation with a student today that prompted some thoughts on prayer and obedience. She was sharing with me a prayer burden that came over her and her boyfriend last night as they walked back to school from dinner. At a certain point she became overwhelmed with a vision and for the next few minutes they walked that same block praying over it.

Prayer burdens are interesting. Sometimes we don’t know what is going on, so we just wait until the feeling is over. What we need to do is STOP and ASK. Even if we don’t know what to pray, we could allow the Spirit to lead us for a little bit. What is the harm, right?

If everyone would hear that voice and obey in whatever way they could in that moment, we would all become pieces to a great puzzle. That student may never know what happened that night, but the Kingdom of God was advanced in some way.

Be a piece of the puzzle. Just don’t be the MISSING piece.

  1. Great thoughts. And if we’re open to that kind of obedience, maybe God will use us like that more often.
