One of the things I enjoy about translations these days is the opportunity to find out about some of the translators. The more I find out about the translators of the NIV, the more impressed I am with their heart for God and the care with which they do translation work.

I heard Gordon Fee several years ago speak on the TNIV and it led me to examine that translation more and adopt it. This past week I met Karen Jobes who is also on the committee and found her ministry to be incredibly insightful.

Knowing the translators and their vision really helps me as I look at the NIV. All the false assumptions just go out the window for me.
