A great article about what I would hope to be the end of an era. From the outrageous “Jesus Seminar” to today, there has been this “quest” for some mythical Jesus. What has happened is we just keep creating Jesus in our own image.

There are “scholars” who just don’t want to believe the Scriptures, so they go off on their own trails, creating an alternative universe.

The author says this:

“I can establish that the tomb was empty and that resurrection is the best explanation for the empty tomb. But one thing the historical method cannot prove is that Jesus died for our sins and was raised for our justification.”

There is an admission that all scholars have done is create a fifth gospel, which isn’t “gospel” at all. There isn’t any good news in this Jesus. Only a portrayal of what we want him to be… in our image.
