Monday Morning Musings

There are times I cannot get into words how I may feel about a certain subject. One blogger, Jim West, has no problem laying out his unvarnished opinions.

This past week we lost a legendary newsman in Walter Cronkite. The decline of network news can be attributed to so many more news outlets these days… and the fact that they quit trying to be journalists.
The healthcare debate heats up. I honestly wrestle with this issue. It is upsetting that we have so many who simply can’t afford healthcare. There is a solution that is desperately needed. BUT… when the Vice President makes ridiculous statements like, “We’re going bankrupt, so we need to spend more money,” and the Congressional Budget Office director says the plan in Congress will only increase the federal deficit, there is a lot of credibility lost in this argument.
And then, checking the baseball standings, I am once again vindicated in my choice to dump my boyhood team, the Royals. They are on yet another extended losing streak and buried 17 games under .500. Thanks guys!
