30 Day Challenge… The Challenges!
All week I have worked to keep my schedule of 3 daily times of turning my attention to the Lord. I am thankful that more often than not I have been able to walk in this exercise. It has also been fun, in that I have worked to MAKE SURE I had time in the Word on days I couldn’t meet exact times of reading and reflection.
One day I was up and able to read the morning Psalms, but my noon time got so busy I had no chance to stop. So, by mid afternoon I simply stopped, pulled out my Bible and reflected on the Proverbs. I noticed I had a bit more time so I went ahead and read some of my New Testament reading just in case my evening got swamped. I WANTED to read the Word. It wasn’t about checking it off my list. It was about a longing… I truly wanted to hear from the Lord that day.
Yesterday I was in a conference all day. My morning time was spent driving to the conference, then my noon time was spent driving back. I poured into the Word during breaks. Again, it was not a sense of, “Good! I can check that off.” It was a sense of, “Lord, I don’t want to miss hearing you today from your Word.”
My newest challenge is study. I have finished my latest round in Romans. There is a bit of a loss here because I so thoroughly enjoyed that journey. Currently I am back to praying through the Scripture. This time I am going through Luke as part of that exercise.
