1 Dear brothers and sisters, not many of you should become teachers in the church, for we who teach will be judged more strictly. 2 Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way.
James 3:1-2 (NLT)
How I know this to be true, especially in an election season. While I would like to point this out as a fault for others, I must readily acknowledge it is a deep fault of my own. I just can’t keep my mouth shut when it would really be of the most help!
What is that saying? Better to not say a word and let people think you’re ignorant, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
Lord, teach me to use my words sparingly and in edification.
