Understanding worship is a learning process. It is far more than a “worship service” where we have songs, but that is the most common thing we think of when we mention “worship.”

There is the worship of our entire life. When we understand our gifts from the Lord and then pursue the use of those gifts through our vocation we are worshiping. If I am an electrician and do it fully for the glory of God, then I am worshiping.

Worship is about bragging on God. When he is lifted up, worship has happened. When others see our good works and glorify God, worship happens.

I need to live more worshipfully. When my life is lived more thoughtfully and purposefully worship can happen. It’s not always in song. It’s not always with music. Teach me to worship, dear Lord!
